GAHP is seeking an experienced technical professional to provide technical advice, research coordination and strategic oversight for the Lead in Food project in India. The consultant will work with government agencies, research institutions, field teams and the project team to support effective implementation and delivery of the project’s scientific objectives.
Location: India/Remote
Duration: 12 months (1 September 2026 – 31 August 2027)
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical and strategic oversight of government engagement, research and field activities.
Develop and support government engagement and research coordination strategies with project partners.
Engage with government agencies and research institutions to facilitate project implementation.
Coordinate and provide technical support to field teams undertaking sampling and related activities.
Support coordination in reviewing and evaluating c analysis results.
Monitor progress, identify challenges and recommend corrective actions to maintain focus on project objectives.
Prepare concise technical updates and summaries for the Principal Investigator, GAHP and donor reporting, as required.
Participate in regular project coordination meetings and undertake other related activities as agreed.
Qualifications and Experience
Substantial professional experience in environmental health, public health, toxicology, environmental science, food safety, lead exposure or a related field.
Demonstrated experience coordinating research or field-based projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Experience working with government agencies and research institutions in India.
Strong technical, analytical, coordination and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively across institutions and disciplines.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Travel: Travel may be required; approved travel expenses will be reimbursed separately.
