ABOUT GAHP

GAHP is a collaborative body made up of more than 60 members and dozens of observers who advocate for resources and solutions to pollution problems. GAHP was formed because international and national level actors/ agencies recognize that a collaborative, multi-stakeholder, multi-sectoral approach is necessary and critical to deal with the global pollution crisis and resulting health and economic impacts. GAHP aims to reduce death and illness caused by all forms of toxic pollution, including air, water, soil, and chemical wastes, especially in low and middle-income countries. These efforts will contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals related to pollution, particularly on Health (Targets 3.4 and 3.9).

ROLE OVERVIEW

GAHP is currently seeking a well-qualified, motivated, and detail-oriented part-time Consultant to fulfill the Environmental Science Expert role to support the implementation and coordination of the EPP Program in Vietnam (2025–2026). This role is critical to ensure the timely delivery of program milestones in 2025 and to support the timely implementation of the program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Providing Support in Environmental Studies Planning and Implementation (~90%)

· Collaborating with the GAHP project team and Vietnamese partners on planning and implementing studies of agricultural practices that provide alternatives to open field burning and the use of pesticides.

·      Reviewing and editing reports and articles.

·      Provide regular updates and support to the GAHP Secretariat, the Program Manager, and the donor as required.

Administrative Support (~10%)

·      Process receipts, expense reports, and related financial documentation as required.

·      Contribute to program updates for GAHP newsletters, donor newsletters, blogs, and/or donor reports.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

· High-level experience in international research projects of agricultural practices that reduce environmental impacts associated with agriculture.

·      Experience in planning scientific research, writing scientific articles, agriculture, public health, and environmental programs.

·      Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.

·      Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural, remote team.

· Fluency (written and oral) in English and other languages is a plus.

·      Degree in Environmental Science, Health, or a relevant degree.

·      Excellent writing skills in English, samples of writing are required

Will be considered a Plus:

·      Experience in Environmental Health issues

· Experience in pesticide use, safe practices, agricultural methods, and open burning.

· Technology skills: Dropbox, Box, Asana, Google Drive, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.
