International Society of Doctors for the Environment (ISDE) Joins GAHP as Its Newest Member
Geneva, 29th July 2026. The Global Alliance on Health and Pollution (GAHP) is pleased to announce that the International Society of Doctors for the Environment (ISDE) has joined GAHP as a Council Member, strengthening the global fight against pollution and its impact on human health.
Founded in 1990, ISDE is an international network of national associations of doctors, health-care workers, and health scientists dedicated to defending the environment locally and globally. Its mission is to prevent pollution-related illness, safeguard the conditions needed for good health, and educate physicians, policymakers, and the public. With strong national members across Europe and the Americas, and a growing presence in Africa and Asia, ISDE's local chapters lead initiatives on climate change, chemical safety, air quality, noise pollution, and the environmental impact of conflict.
GAHP and ISDE are a natural fit: GAHP brings strong government relationships, while ISDE contributes deep grassroots ties to local health professionals. Through this partnership, ISDE will participate in GAHP committees, share initiatives with the GAHP council, and contribute its health expertise and local networks to GAHP programs.
