Dr. Ernesto Sánchez-Triana is a global expert in pollution management and environmental health. He was the Global Lead for Pollution Management and Environmental Health at the World Bank, where he managed the Program on Environmental Health and Pollution Management. He led policy, investment, technical assistance, and analytical work across multiple regions, including Africa, East Asia, Latin America, and South Asia.
Before joining the World Bank, he worked with the Inter-American Development Bank and, previously, was Professor at the National University of Colombia and Director of Environmental Policy at Colombia’s National Department of Planning. Ernesto has authored numerous publications on environmental health, pollution management, and sustainable development. He holds two MSc degrees and a PhD from Stanford University.
